FIELD TRIPS
Field trips through Tuscany and elsewhere in Italy are enriching and unique. They are a part of the learning abroad experience.
At AD’A we have optional field trips that give students the opportunity to know other cities; to appreciate their history, landscapes and culture.
GALLERIA UFFIZI
One of the most important Italian museums, and the most visited, holds a collection of priceless works from the period of the Italian Renaissance.
GALLERIA DELL’ACCADEMIA
It is best known as the home of Michelangelo‘s sculpture David. It also has other sculptures mostly from the period 1300-1600, the Trecento to the Late Renaissance.
PALAZZO PITTI
This palace, owned by the Medici Family is a great treasure house as later generations amassed paintings, plates, jewelry and luxurious possessions.
AREZZO
Many famous artists and architects have passed and left a mark. Arezzo is an important city that has a Roman ampitheater , Etruscan origins and Medici fortress.
CHIANTI
Visiting this wine region is a fantastic excursion in itself, add wine testing and you have an ideal trip. You can have a great view of the vineyards and magnificent panoramas on the hills.
SIENA
It’s a place extremely rich in history and art and also to the famous Palio di Siena. You can appreciate the atmosphere of this medieval town getting into the heart of the city to the beautiful Piazza del Campo.
BOLOGNA
Is famous for having the oldest univerisity in the western world, its architecture it’s noted for its colors, terracotta reds, burnts oranges and warm yellows. Explore the city by foot, go to Piazza di porta Ravegnana and climb the Torre Asinelli.
PISA
The leaning tower has made Pisa famous all over the world , you can climb up the tower and enjoy the beautiful view of the city. You can also admire it’s beautiful gothic churches and Renaissance piazzas.
LUCCA
You can appreciate the trace of the Roman amphitheater and archeological remains.You can walk around the walls and then go visit the San Frediano’s church.
VENEZIA
Walk through the ancient streets of the city, visit the great Piazza San Marco and go on a boat trip on the Gran Canale where you can see the famous gondolas, the public transit water buses and private water taxis
ASSISI
Is known for the magnificent medieval architecture, you have to visit the spectacular Basilic of San Francesco and the medieval fortress where you can admire the city view.
OTHERS
Italy is a marvelous country full of rich history and artistic treasures! A short train ride and you can see many incredible cities.
