THE OLDEST SCULPTURAL MATERIAL: TERRACOTTA AND MARBLE

Michelangelo, Donatello, Cellini, Giambologna, and Verrocchio are some of the most important sculpture representatives in art history. Here in Florence you can see many of their famous sculptures like the David by Michelangelo, Perseo with the Jellyfish Head by Cellini, and The Paradise Doors by Ghiberti.

Studying and learning sculpture in Florence, Italy means personally working and studying with the legacy of the great artists of Italian sculpture.

L’Accademia d’Arte A’DA offers a classical course in which you will use sculpture and drawing to create sculptures using marble and clay just like the masters. The process starts with the selection of a subject, then learn how to convert a two-dimensional photo or drawing to a three-dimensional object.

Clay modeling (Terracotta)

The sculpture course allows students, beginners to advance, to create a sculpture choosing
from different techniques and media, including Clay modeling and Marble sculpture.

Depending on the student’s knowledge and course selection, the student can choose to
focus in a specific technique or diversify in more techniques.
